What does a Postnatal Doula do?
Basically, I will do whatever you need me to do so that you can rest, nurture yourself and bond with your baby and your family during this very important period. I will cuddle the baby, tidy up the house, cook nutritious food, help feeding and remind you to slow down too!
*A Doula doesn’t give you any clinical diagnosis or advice. A Doula supports you to make your own choice without any judgement in every aspect of your postnatal journey.
When we had our first baby, we were lost. Everything was new to us! How do you care for a baby!? We had lots to learn!
In addition, I couldn’t allow myself to rest in bed most of the time. I was pushing myself to do housework. As a result, I became physically and mentally unwell during the postnatal period.
So, I trained as a Doula to support mums so that they don’t have to go through what I experienced! I have learnt that the postnatal period is such an important, sensitive and vulnerable time.
In the journey of becoming a Postnatal Doula, I came across the phrase “40 days, 40 years.” That means the first 40 days of the postnatal period is so important for mothers/parents that it influences the next 40 YEARS of your life!!
I use my extensive experience as a mother of 3 children and Doula to support mothers/parents to really look after themselves in this crucial period of time because that will lead you and your family to a happier and healthier life together.

Testimonials
She really listened and helped out with hands or information.
She always checked what I needed and jumped in - sorting baby clothes, washes, dishes, a massage, time for a shower or playing with my toddler. She always supported my family, also my husband, really listened and helped out with hands or information. Her smile and reassurance that I’m doing well in my job as a mother were much appreciated every time.

A great addition to the family at such an important time.
Tomo helped me in a mother’s help role after I had my baby. Tomo is gentle, supportive and very efficient in the household. She is always happy to help with laundry and keeping the house tidy and clean whilst happily watching my older 2 children if needed. She is reliable and always on time with a smile on her face. A great addition to the family at such an important time. Thank you Tomo!

Having a postpartum doula was very worthwhile.
Tomoko is respectful, kind, considerate, gentle and calm. She is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Having a postpartum doula was very worthwhile. She has helped with tasks such as dishes, hoovering, going to the store, and laundry. Family and friends get excited for the new baby but a doula has an element of professionalism.

She is very empathetic and caring.
I think she has got quite a bit of knowledge of general being a doula. She is also very empathetic and caring. She’s got a very lively personality as well. She is a very lovable and loving person. I’d say her personality and knowledge is really good and she is more than willing to help and support.
